this is from an email home, can be fucked writing syuff specially for this so good old copy paste
back from paris for a few days now, finally got into town to tell you about it. where do you begin? the whole trip was mind blowing. starting with just how easy it was to get around quickly, comunicating with people and evrything like that. just about evryone i spoke to had at least the basics of english and seemed happy to help me if i was stuck. i'm really glad that i booked through a person and not the net, because as well as my tickets and stuff, i also got a road map of the main part, a tube map and a bus map. also they gave me a tourists book of things to see and do, which also had heaps of advise and tips, which was invaluble to me.
what i actially saw and did there was like nothing else. i saw 100s and even 1000s years old things in the louve, great paintins from the renacance, statues from the greeks and romans, artifacts from anciant islam and stuff from egypt, including a mummy, how cool is that! they even had a section preserved from when the building was a fortres, which i didnt know about.
the que to get to the tower was massive, but i think the line at teh cafe on the second floor was bigger. all up the stairs was info sheets and historical stuff about the tower, best one was about some con man sold the tower to a scrap metal dealer by saying it was going to be torn down. the view was massive, you could see forever, i think i went on the only day that wasnt overcast, which helped a lot.
the best view of the city tho was from the top of notredam, i know thans not how its spelt. the line to get to teh towers was about 1.2hours but man, it was worth evry second. the stair case turned your legs to jelly going around and around and up forever until you come out looking at a row of about 6 or 8 statues of saints on the tower next to you. for some reason its covered in statues of quite ugly gargoils and monsters, god knows why, but the view with the tower just a few hundred metres away and the river and all of the amazing buildings and stuff made the view like nothing you could imagine.
walking around the rivers, it must be an anual thing where they dump a bunch of beech sand on the walkway all up the river and make a beech for the summer, really cool. after notredam i sat at a cafe for a few hours and looked at the buildings and water and boats and people and evrything that went past, a really nice way to spend an afternoon. so expencive tho, evrything is expencive there, but they value things strangly, its hard to explain or think of a good example right now, but somethings were really deer like beer but soem things were suprisingly cheep. unfortunatly i wanted teh beer and not the cheep stuff. oh well.
i saw mickey mouse!!!! disney was a lot of fun. i really want to one day do the one in america now. the rides were cool and a lot of it just made you feel like a kid. and then the screems of actual kids would snap you out of it. one of the best bits was the alice in wonderland maze, it was just so surreal and so much fun to walk through. it was a really really big day. i got there around 10 or 10:30 and stayed until the fire works ended at about 11.45. that ment that the next day, my last day i was knackered. i stumbled apon the bridge that they marched from after the war ended and the germans were kicked out and from there was like the main city like in perth with all the shops and stuff. i just watched a couple of movies cos i couldnt do much else |

this friday i'm off to paris for a week. I cant fucking wait to kick the shit out of mickey mouse at euro disney. well give him a nookie at least. i'm gonna climb the eifel tower and spit off it, i'm gonna walk through the louve with a bored expression on my face and make intelectual arty type comments and try to compare the mona lisa or some amzing painting to the emotional bleakness of johnny, and how it lacks the innocence carved through terror and confusion as shown in squee. or some shit like that. i'm gonna drink french wine till i puke out frogs legs.
i cant wait |

| | nails | ] | last saterday at work was fuckign odd. we had 90 women in the resturant for three hens parties (about 85 dogs) and out of nowere i get called to the dj booth. they decided it was the perfent night to bring back the tradition of the initiation. i had to stand on a chair and dance/get assaulted to the tune of YMCA. the three hens each had a pint of ice and by the end if it they had my top off and were working on my pants before one of our 'door technitians' steped in. but the worst part was when i saw myself in one of the bar mirrior - those bitches messed my hair up. |

[Mar. 2nd, 2004|11:46 am] |
wells i got hear ok, jet lagged like fuck but thats ok, got hear at 6.45 am on friday and on sat worked a 10 hour shift from 3.00. i have been reliably informed that it was the biggest sat for a few months and we were short staffed by 2, so talk about being thrown in to the deep end. it was good tho, the hotel is so cool, my view is so awsome, the ski slope and green hills and stuff. I saw snow when i first touched down, it was really tiny and melted as soon as it hit the ground or anything else, but it was snow and thats all that matters.
I got royally pissed on sunday, some of the bar staff took me the the local pub at 1.00 ish, and i have no memory from about 4 onwards. apparently i was reinking double shots of some pommy dark rum. i hate rum. i have no idea how i avoided a hang over. oh wells.
i think i'm gonna like it in england. i hope so anyway.
thanks adam and lou for coming to the airport |
